Vertical Lathe Machinist (VTL) (Heavy Engineering / Manufacturing)

SUMMARY:
We are recruiting Vertical Lathe Machinist (VTL) to machine large, heavy, high-value components on a Vertical Lathe to precise tolerances

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL / Vertical Boring Mills)

• Set up, align, and clamp large-diameter components

• Perform turning, boring, facing, grooving, and drilling operations

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances

• Measure large components using micrometers, gauges, and precision tools

• Select tooling and cutting parameters for heavy machining

• Perform repair, refurbishment, and reverse engineering work

• Ensure machining is done safely, accurately, and efficiently

• Maintain machine condition and workshop housekeeping

• Work closely with engineers, fitters, and supervisors to meet deadlines

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Qualified Machinist / Turner (Trade Test preferred)

• 5 years or more experience operating Vertical Lathes

• Strong experience with large components and heavy materials

• Excellent understanding of tolerances and surface finishes

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Safety-conscious with solid workshop discipline
