VRV Technician

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the HVAC sector, is seeking a skilled VRV Technician to join their Installations Division in Cape Town. This role involves taking full ownership of residential, commercial, and industrial HVAC installations while providing technical leadership to junior team members. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all systems are installed and commissioned to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the installation and commissioning of air conditioning systems and equipment as per technical specifications.
• Manage and mentor an assigned Technical Assistant, providing on-the-job training and direction.
• Ensure all stock and preparation is managed efficiently before arriving at customer sites.
• Conduct thorough site inspections to identify maintenance risks and ensure compliance with manufacturer standards.
• Maintain a high level of customer service, resolving queries and providing continuous feedback to the team.
• Ensure strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and internal quality standards.
• Maintain all tools and equipment in optimal working order and ensure a thorough site clean-up upon project completion.
• Keep accurate daily logs and records of all job functions as required by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent education.
• 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Technician, with a specific focus on installing VRV systems.
• A valid driver’s license is essential.
• Relevant Trade Test and a valid Gas License (highly preferred).
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC products, tools, and installation methods.
• Advanced communication and customer liaison skills.
• Ability to work at heights and maintain physical fitness for site-based work.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.
