The Role: Utility / Heat Network Manager
This role exists to support the Head of Property by taking ownership of the workload associated with utilities. The purpose of the position is to manage energy contracts, coordinate with third-party vendors, and handle the administrative requirements of heat networks. The main focus areas include reviewing costs against billing and ensuring efficient management of energy renewals and quotes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage energy contracts and renewals with a focus on commercial environments.
- Coordinate directly with brokers and third-party vendors to handle quotes and queries.
- Perform regular administrative housekeeping and general utility-related admin.
- Review costs versus billing to ensure financial accuracy.
- Negotiate with stakeholders using a soft negotiation style.
- Support other business areas during periods of lower utility workload.
- Use Excel and numerical skills to manage data and financial information.
About You
- Experience dealing with vendors and commercial environments.
- Property or energy-related experience.
- Strong organization and planning skills with a methodical, process-driven approach.
- Advanced numerical skills and proficiency in Excel.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to deal with stakeholders.
- Flexible approach to a workload that ebbs and flows.
