Turner (Conventional) required for company based on the East Rand

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience on conventional lathes
• Strong understanding of machining techniques and tool geometry
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience working with a variety of materials (steel, aluminium, brass, plastics)

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate conventional lathes for turning, facing, boring, threading, and taper work
• Set up workpieces using chucks, collets, and centres
• Select and adjust cutting tools, feeds, and speeds
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting

Quality & Safety:

• Measure components using precision instruments
• Ensure adherence to tolerances and surface finish requirements
• Complete job cards and inspection sheets
• Comply with ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 45001 (safety) standards
• Follow PPE and safe handling procedures
