SUMMARY:
A large and fast paced hospital in Durban requires professional and well-experienced Trauma nurses to join their clinical team in the 24-hour Emergency Unit. Positions for post basic trained or experienced nurses.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Inherent job requirement is minimum of 3 years working experience in Trauma/Emergency units with BLS, ACLS and PALS certificates.

Key responsibilities:

Deliver emergency medical care, assess and stabilize patients
Triage patients to prioritize the most severe or life-threatening patients
Perform emergency procedures (CPR, intubation, IV’s)
Provide wound care
Prepare patients for emergency surgery if required
Comply with Infection Control and Health & Safety policies
Effective management of stock within the unit

Education and skills needed to be considered:
Nursing Diploma or Degree
Post basic Trauma or Emergency Care qualification
Registered with SANC
Ability to make accurate and quick decisions
Ability to remain calm in a stressful situation
Ensure high quality patient care at all times
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
