CUTTING ROOM SUPERVISOR

POSITION INFO:

RedCat Recruitment is urgently seeking an experienced CUTTING ROOM SUPERVISOR for a well-established concern, position based in Durban – KwaZulu-Natal.

REQUIREMENTS

Grade 12 / NQF 4 qualification or equivalent.

Valid driver’s license / own reliable vehicle.

Relevant tertiary qualification would be advantageous (i.e. Production Management).

Previous supervisory / management experience is essential.

2 – 3 years’ experience in a busy cutting room and cutting machine operation skills.

Knowledge and experience of pattern making process preferable.

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet) (intermediate to advanced knowledge).

Ability to supervise capacity and production scheduling.

Ability to supervise and influence material requirements pro-actively.

Job purpose includes generation of lay plans, supervise the process of cutting of headwear and cutting room capacity planning, responsible for hiring of skilled workers and identification of training requirements for staff, ensure all equipment and safety equipment are in working order and all employees are trained in safety operation techniques.

Staff management.

Production and planning.

Uses the appropriate resources to achieve the production plan in terms of productivity, quantity and delivery schedule to ensure on-time delivery of quality cut work.

Supervise the cutting room staff to produce the best quality headwear and scarves.

Scheduling of deliveries from cutting room to the factory for 100% on time delivery to customers.

Analysis and reporting of Cutting Room production data and troubleshooting.

Maintenance and housekeeping of all equipment.

Apply manufacturing systems and tools to improve safety, quality and productivity.
