Transport Manager

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to lead and optimize transport operations at Bellville Distribution Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transport planning, delivery schedules, fleet and driver operations, financial performance, compliance, and team leadership while ensuring exceptional service delivery and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

•  Manage and coordinate transport operations, including driver and delivery management
• Oversee transport budgets, cost control, fuel management, and financial reporting
• Ensure efficient route planning and delivery schedule execution
• Lead, coach, and develop transport teams to achieve operational objectives
• Manage stakeholder and customer relationships to ensure service excellence
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and transport regulations
• Monitor KPIs, driver performance, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage transport assets, equipment, and operational risk processes
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 with Higher Grade Mathematics
• Tertiary Degree in Transport Management or a related field (Honours advantageous)
• 5–7 years'' management experience within transport, warehousing, distribution, QSR, or FMCG environments
• Proven experience in:
  • Transport and fleet management
  • People leadership and performance management
  • Health & Safety management
  • Continuous improvement and operational planning
  • Managing complex, multi-site operations
• Advanced MS Excel, WMS, and Microsoft Office skills
