Transport Coordinator

SUMMARY:
One of the leading transport & distribution companies in the logistics market across the UK and Europe. Transport management is a key role within the organisation. This person will be part of a team of transport coordinators covering all demand whilst keeping a high customer service level.

POSITION INFO:
The ideal candidate will have experience on day to day planning and control within the road and transport operations; controlling and monitoring of cost effective and on-time and used to working in a high pressure and fast moving environment. 

The candidate will also need to contribute for performance improvement, understand what process needs to be improved and give some ideas / suggestions. This role will be reporting directly to the Transport Manager.
A candidate with experience in transport/logistics will be preferred but not essential. 

Requirements

• Ability to handle multiple operational tasks, prioritising those which are time sensitive whilst having good commercial awareness.
• Operated in a fast-paced environment with great attention to detail and calm under pressure
• Exceptional coaching and mentoring skills to lead your team
• Helping to build and lead a best-in-class continuous improvement strategy/framework
• Working with key business stakeholders to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing programme of change
• Excellent telephone manner and customer service skills
• Set relevant KPIs and evaluate the working performances of staff to improve the productivity and efficiency
