Trainee Emerging Markets Representative

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse unique market issues and characteristics, such as brand loyalty and competitor activity, and discuss findings with the Regional Sales Manager to identify opportunities, strengths, and weaknesses.
• Introduce and establish the Voermol brand in regions where we currently have no presence.
• Drive growth and expand sales within these new areas.
• Develop routes to market by building strong relationships with potential sellers.
• Collaborate closely with partners including Agricultural Co-operatives, RPO, NWGA, and Government bodies to train and educate developing farmers.
• Support the development of emerging markets and uplift communities by promoting best farming practises, encouraging farmers to transition from subsistence to profit-driven farming.
• Market and sell the full range of Voermol products to the developing market sector.
• Manage client complaints and claims by conducting on-site investigations, including collecting samples, capturing photographic evidence, and compiling comprehensive reports to ensure accurate documentation and effective resolution.
• Follow up on customer concerns regarding returns, credit notes, or order statuses by liaising with relevant internal departments within Voermol Feeds to provide timely updates and clarity.
• Plan and coordinate advertising and awareness initiatives for events by determining approaches with the Regional Sales Manager and allocating tasks within the sales team accordingly.

• A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Degree or Diploma.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in the agricultural sector, preferably within animal husbandry (ruminants).
• Fluency in English, isiZulu, and Afrikaans is essential.
• Strong sales focus with excellent customer relationship-building skills.
• High ethical standards and professional maturity.
• Team player with a confident, assertive personality and the ability to take initiative.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
