Tracking Controller

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Northern Suburbs is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tracking Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in a similar role, with solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook and Excel), as well as experience with Ctrack Optix and TK Tracking Bonus systems (preferred). A Matric (Grade 12) qualification is essential, and a background in the tracking or transport/logistics industry will be highly advantageous. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transport, as the role involves 12-hour shifts.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Experience with Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook and Excel), Ctrack Optix, and TK Tracking Bonus systems (preferred)
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification essential
• Background in tracking or transport/logistics industry highly advantageous
• Valid driver's license and own reliable transport required

• Track vehicles and loads using various platforms (Ctrack, Optix, TK Tracking)
• Ensure drivers remain on route as per schedule/plan
• Maintain accurate information on loads and customers according to the plan
• Maintain constant communication with drivers and fleet controllers
• Ensure drivers arrive at loading/offloading sites on time
• Assist drivers with directions when needed
• Log tyre breakdown calls with the service provider
• Monitor and track vehicles throughout the shift
• Monitor WhatsApp groups for updates on possible protests or strikes
• Escalate vehicle breakdowns to fleet managers/controllers
• Follow up on road accidents and plan alternative routes
• In the event of a protest, contact the local police in the affected area for more information
• Monitor TK Tracking for fridge unit alarms and report issues immediately
• Provide a proper handover of important loads/information for the next shift
• Liaise effectively with the nightshift controller
• Ensure clients are updated every 2 hours via WhatsApp groups
• Report incidents and accidents immediately
• Attend to panic alarms, including potential hijacking alerts
