Tour Consultant

SUMMARY:
A well-established tour operator specialising in South African travel is looking for an experienced TOUR CONSULTANT to join their Johannesburg team.

POSITION INFO:
This is a fast-paced, client-facing role suited to someone who knows the South African tourism landscape inside out and can manage the full booking process from first enquiry to final invoice.

Core Criteria:

• 3-5 years experience as a tour consultant within South Africa
• Extensive knowledge of South African lodges, properties and destinations
• Solid understanding of tour operations, including planning and execution
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, multitasking ability and independent work ethic
• Degree or diploma in travel and tourism or a related field

• Manage client engagement across WhatsApp, email and calls, handling enquiries, bookings, itineraries and payments
• Prepare and review quotations, negotiate supplier rates and ensure pricing and room configurations are accurate
• Coordinate accommodation, flights, vehicles and activities, confirming bookings and documenting client requests
• Prepare client briefings, verify daily movement files and confirm bookings and supplier invoices
• Provide emergency support during travel, manage complaints and refunds, and assist the sales team with information

• This is a live-out position
• Meals and airtime provided
• 6-day work week: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 1pm
