The company operates in the Commercial and Industrial Solar PV industry. It focuses on the delivery, sales, procurement, and operations of solar PV and hybrid energy projects.

The Role: Technical Manager

The Solar Technical Manager is responsible for providing technical leadership across the full lifecycle of solar PV and hybrid energy projects. This role exists to ensure that all systems are technically sound, compliant, safe, bankable, and optimised for performance while supporting project delivery, sales, procurement, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize a minimum of 5 years’ experience in solar PV or renewable energy projects to lead and approve technical designs.

• Ensure compliance with SANS 10142-1 / 10142-2, NRS 097-2-1, and municipal or Eskom requirements.

• Sign off Certificates of Compliance (CoCs), commissioning reports, as-built drawings, and handover documentation.

• Approve system sizing, layouts, inverter and battery architecture, and BOS equipment.

• Manage grid connection applications and technical approvals.

• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues or deviations during construction and commissioning.

• Provide technical support to sales proposals and client engagements to ensure system viability.

• Lead and mentor technical staff while driving quality control and risk management.

About You

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in solar PV or renewable energy projects.

• Master Electrician qualification.

• Electrical Engineering qualification (NQF 4 + beneficial).

• Proven experience with commercial or utility-scale solar systems.

• Strong working knowledge of South African electrical and grid standards.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Registered Professional Engineer / Technologist (advantageous).
