Technical External Sales Consultant

SUMMARY:
Our client needs a strong technical sales person with 3 - 5 years' experience in the construction industry. Grade 12 with mathematics and a relevant tertiary qualification is required. Good communication and negotiations skills are essential. Sales of products to the construction and mining industries

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics
  
• Diploma in Marketing, Sales or Technical
• At least 3 - 5 years sales experience in the construction industry
• Must be able to work at heights
• Candidates must have good communication skills
• Good sales ability, persuasiveness and negotiation skills
• Able to build strategic working relationships
• Must be prepared to do continuous learning
• Must have integrity and honesty
• Always be respectful, transparent and be quality orientated in line with company values
• Good time management
• Quality work standards
• Team orientated

Minimum standards include the following:

• Police Clearance Certificate
• Valid Drivers License
• Must be prepared to travel
• Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Sales of products to the construction and mining industries

New Business Development

• Identify potential customers
• Generate Leads
• Introductions to prospective clients
• Quotes on enquiries / convert to orders

Customer Education

• Advise customers on possible solutions relating to products and application
• Provide accurate advice to client regarding product application

Existing Business Retention

• Contact clients on company database
• Quote on enquiries
• Convert quotes to orders

Internal and External Customer Satisfaction

• Updating product knowledge continuously
• Attend to all enquiries within 24 hours of receipts
• Ensure accuracy of all quotes and reports
• Meet deadlines

Product Knowledge

• Know your competitors and their products
• Stay current with company product information

Report Generation

• Write accurate reports to deadlines

Sales

• Makes appointments with clients
• Make follow-up calls on open quotes
• Visits with customers
• Generate quotes
• Convert quotes to orders
• Meet Sales Targets

Territory Management

• Focus appointments with clients geographically
