Technical External Sales & Draughting Representative

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Technical External Sales & Draughting Representative for our client in Alberton to start as soon as possible.

This role involves providing professional and efficient service to customers, with a focus on technical sales, product installation support, and draughting assistance. The position combines customer-facing sales, technical support, and hands-on draughting responsibilities.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Senior Certificate (Matric) with mathematics
• Ability to read, understand, and create technical drawings. Experience with Fusion 360 is preferred
• Post-matric technical qualification (e.g., certificate or diploma) and/or a minimum of 3 years in a technical role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with any ERP system
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• 2–5 years of experience in a similar role
• Reliable transport and the ability to access worksites
• Medically fit for worksite access

• Highly motivated, reliable, and confident
• Strong ability to perform under pressure with high stress tolerance
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
• Team-oriented with high emotional maturity
• Willing to travel and work overtime when necessary
• Ability to take on tasks outside the typical job description as needed
• Sober habits and lifestyle (regular testing required for customer site access)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Compile reports, spreadsheets, and data for the customer base
• Assist the external sales team with sales and technical queries

• Create and review technical drawings for manufacturing
• Generate costings and quotes for customers
• Select appropriate materials based on customer needs and applications
• Assist with the preparation and submission of tenders
• Ensure customer-supplied drawings contain all necessary details for manufacturing
• Evaluate and report on product performance and installations on customer sites

• Handle other ad hoc tasks as assigned by management
• Represent the company at promotional events and social gatherings
• Attend offsite sales conferences, with potential travel required

• Matric with mathematics (not maths literacy)
