Team Leader

POSITION INFO:

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supervise the activities of a group of employees engaged in performing a variety of production operations to ensure sufficient and accurate staffing of all the lines
• Ensure good raw material control, correct material dosage and minimize production scrap
• Ensure that quality checks are conducted and any non-conformances corrected
• Ensure tea and lunch breaks are controlled within the set time limits
• Maintain safety within the plant at all times and ensure compliance with set standards
• Attend to and record all incidents in the shift log book and ensure the information is passed on to the next Team Leader and Production Manager
• Adherence to OHS Act and plant procedures in order to meet customer quality requirements
• Comply with company food safety standards with focus on 5S housekeeping
• Ensures necessary measures are taken in the event of misconduct or poor performance

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• NQF level 5
• 2 years’ supervision experience in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
• Be prepared to work Shift and overtime when necessary
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & FSSC 22000 (advantageous)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent administration skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure
