Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly creative, hands-on Content Creator to produce compelling visual and written content that showcases two of KwaZulu-Natal's premier hospitality destinations. This role is ideal for an experienced storyteller who thrives in dynamic environments, has a passion for hospitality, and can capture exceptional guest experiences through engaging digital content.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, creating and delivering high-quality content across multiple digital platforms while working closely with the marketing and operational teams at both properties.
This is a field-based role that requires regular travel between properties, flexibility to capture weekend and evening events when required, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation
- Produce high-quality photography and videography showcasing accommodation, restaurants, bars, spa facilities, weddings, conferences, golf, leisure activities and guest experiences.
- Create engaging short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube Shorts.
- Capture lifestyle imagery aligned with luxury hospitality brand standards.
- Edit and produce professional content suitable for digital and print marketing.
- Develop compelling written content including captions, blogs, newsletters and promotional copy.
Social Media
- Assist in developing and executing the social media content calendar.
- Create platform-specific content that increases engagement and brand awareness.
- Monitor content performance and recommend improvements based on insights and analytics.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media trends and recommend innovative content ideas.
Brand Storytelling
- Tell authentic stories that highlight the guest journey and unique experiences offered by each property.
- Collaborate with operational departments to identify content opportunities.
- Capture seasonal campaigns, promotions and special events.
Hospitality Marketing
Produce content across multiple departments including:
- Accommodation
- Food & Beverage
- Weddings
- Conferences & Events
- Spa
- Golf
- Family Experiences
- Corporate Functions
- Destination Marketing
Campaign Support
- Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns.
- Create promotional material for new offers and experiences.
- Support influencer collaborations and media visits.
- Work alongside external agencies where required.
Digital Asset Management
- Maintain an organised digital library of photography and video assets.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines.
- Archive and catalogue content for future campaigns.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Media, Communications, Photography, Videography or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Content Creator, Digital Content Specialist or Social Media Content Creator.
- Previous experience within the hospitality, tourism, travel or luxury lifestyle industry is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience managing content across multiple brands or locations.
TRAVEL & FLEXIBILITY
This role supports multiple hospitality properties within KwaZulu-Natal and requires:
- Regular travel between assigned properties.
- A valid South African driver's licence.
- Own reliable vehicle.
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and evenings when required for events, activations and content shoots.
- Willingness to travel for promotional campaigns and special projects.
