SUMMARY:
Signa Opportunity is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.
About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position: Stores Assistant

Stipend: R5400.00

Location: Diepkloof (Soweto)

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, unpack, and store incoming stock in designated areas.
Assist with inventory control, including regular stock counts and stock rotation.
Replenish shelves and ensure merchandise is neatly displayed according to store guidelines.
Support merchandising activities, including arranging promotional displays, price labeling, and ensuring planogram compliance.
Maintain store cleanliness, tidiness, and adherence to health and safety standards.
Assist customers with inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
Report damaged, missing, or expired stock to the Store Manager.
Support stock transfers, dispatch, and receiving processes.
Perform any other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
Must not have participated on the YES Programme before.
Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
Previous experience in retail, warehousing, or stock management (advantageous).
Basic knowledge of merchandising principles.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physically fit to handle lifting and movement of stock.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
