Sponsorship Manager

SUMMARY:
Job Title: Sponsorship Manager (Football/Soccer)
Location: Durban 

Job Overview:
Will be responsible for growing and protecting the club's commercial partnership portfolio. The role carries two mandates: identifying, pursuing and securing new sponsorship and partnership opportunities aligned to the club's defined commercial categories; and managing the club's existing sponsors and partners to ensure every right and benefit promised in their agreements is delivered in full, on time and to a professional standard.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements: 

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Sport Management, Marketing, Business or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in sponsorship sales, partnership management or commercial roles, ideally within sport, entertainment or a related industry. 
• Demonstratable track record of securing and/or managing commercial partnerships. 
• Working knowledge of South African football commercial environment, including PSL and SAFA sponsorship regulations is advantageous.
• A valid driver's licence and own transport. 

• Identify, research and prioritise prospective sponsors and partners in line with the commercial categories defined by the club.
• Develop and present tailored sponsorship proposals, pitch decks and partnership packages to prospective sponsors.
• Negotiate commercial terms, rights packages and contract value in line with club guidelines and approval thresholds.
• Act as primary day-to-day point of contact for all existing sponsors and partners.
• Maintain a comprehensive rights and benefits tracker for every sponsor and partner, recording all contractual obligations and delivery deadlines.
• Support the negotiation and drafting of renewal, extension or amendment agreements in conjunction with the club's legal and finance functions.
• Ensure sponsorship and advertising activity complies with applicable PSL, SAFA and CAF regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date commercial pipeline and sponsorship revenue report for the head of commercial and executive team. 
• Prepare materials for board, executive or sponsor renewal meetings as required.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with sponsor and partner representatives at all levels. 
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure sponsor commitments are practically delivered. 

• Monthly car & travel allowance.
• Commisssion on cash sponsorships or partnerships brought into the club.
