Specifications Consultant

SUMMARY:
Our Client, a European leader in the supply of sanitary products is recruiting a Specifications Consultant who, together with the Sales Manager, will be responsible for managing the existing client base with the objective of growing the business potential and for developing and building up of new business opportunities.  Candidates must present with approximately 5 years’ relevant experience in the construction industry, proof of working in a projects’ environment and South African Building Industry knowledge is essential.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:

• Specifications support of the Client’s professional partners within the respective regions.
• Professional Account Management facilitation:
  • Project Specifications.
  • Marketing requirements.
  • Stock management.
  • Pricing communication.
  • Uphold internal regulations (design, limits of authority, returns and pricing).
• Use of CRM for all sales and project related activities (customer data, contact reports, project information, calendar).
• Work closely with the Client’s top Architects, consulting with all their specifiers, technologists, draftsmen and interior designers. Ensure products are specified and keep them updated on new products and solutions.
• Customer Product Training and Presentations - Plan, organise and conduct training events and / or workshops with customers.
• Support the sales and marketing teams with campaigns, events, exhibitions and shows.
• Timeous follow-up on all leads, development of project progression and information requests.
• Manage and take responsibility and accountability for allocated tasks and assistance you have requested from colleague.
• Attend industry networking events.
• Research market trends, competitor information and general industry movement and changes.
• Attend and participate in internal and external team meetings (sales, projects and product).
• Will be required to travel from time to time.
• Customer support (technical calls, ETA’s and price enquiries).
• Uphold company values.

• Minimum Grade 12/ Matric.
• Tertiary education beneficial (i.e. Project Management).
• Proof of working in a project environment with relevant experience and knowledge.
• South African Building Industry knowledge is essential, Plumbing Industry background beneficial.
• Experience in MS Office and CRM is essential.
• Self-motivated in developing professional relationships with industry and work colleagues.
• Applying project management methodology and understanding.
• Communication and Presentation skills.
• Solution driven.
• Ability to negotiate at all levels.
• 5+ years relevant experience in construction industry.
• Must be proficient in working with minimal supervision.
