TRADING HOURS & SHIFTS
- Monday – Sunday
- 09:00 - 18:00
- 1x Weekend off per month + days off in the week
REPORT TO: Spa Manager
EMPLOYMENT: Fixed Term (5-months contract)
SALARY & COMPANY BENEFITS
- R8,400 Basic Salary per month
- Service Commission (on any therapies performed by you)
- Retail Commission
PURPOSE OF THIS JOB: As a Spa Host / Backup Therapist, you will serve as the first point of contact for our guests, delivering a warm welcome and excellent customer service, while also assisting with spa operations and stepping in as a therapist when needed. You will manage administrative duties such as handling bookings and guest inquiries and provide support to the spa team by offering therapeutic treatments during peak times or staff shortages. This multi-faceted role is integral to ensure our guests receive a seamless and exceptional experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- South African citizen OR permitted for employment
- Reliable transport within the Southern Suburbs
- Computer confident - making bookings, responding to emails and doing general admin
- Professional telephone etiquette - clear, confident, speaking
- Excellent guest communication and command of English - our guests are mostly international tourists
- Beautifully groomed and highly presentable
BONUS:
- Certified / Diploma in Beauty Specialist / Health & Skin Care / Beauty Therapy / Somatology / Cosmetology
- SAAHSP / ITEC / CIDESCO accredited qualification
EXPERIENCE:
- Day Spa experience within a Hotel or Resort or independent day spa (at least 2 years)
- Cruise Ship OR international employment experience - BONUS
- Spa Receptionist experience required
- Able to perform spa therapies when operationally required
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
- Guest services & reception
- Spa operational support (help where needed)
- Back up spa therapist when operationally required (emergencies etc.) if qualified to perform
- Guest experience & satisfaction in alignment with our company policies
