Description

We are looking for a Chef with excellent communication, customer service and creative skills. Chef’s key role is to lead, prepare and execute high quality menus for all catering events. The perfect candidate is someone with excellent knowledge of catering operations, is forward thinking, able to manage a team effectively and produce healthy high-quality food.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Able to plan and prepare activities
  • Cook healthy, quality and consistent menus
  • Menu planning & calculating of menus
  • Manage inventory and supplies
  • Excellent levels of Health and Safety

 

Job Specification

  • Culinary Degree or Diploma or relevant certificate
  • 5+ years experience required (in the hospitality industry will be an advantage)
  • Capable of delegating, multi-tasking and provide excellent support
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work under pressure
  • Computer proficiency (Internet, e-mailing, MS Office)
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license is compulsory
  • Flexible hours is a requirement

 

Contract period: One year contract

Own transport with a valid drivers license is essential. Work generally 8 hours a week with the occasional evening functions (e.g., Cocktails, dinners, etc.) or social function (e.g. weddings, parties, etc.) on a Saturday.
