SUMMARY:
A private game reserve in Limpopo is seeking an experienced, team-oriented SOUS CHEF to join its kitchen team.

POSITION INFO:

This is a well-rounded kitchen role for a confident, experienced chef who brings both technical ability and a genuinely positive, collaborative attitude to the workplace. The successful candidate will take pride in delivering quality food consistently, work well within a team, and be comfortable living and working within a remote reserve environment.

Core Criteria:

Recognised culinary qualification essential
Minimum 6 years' experience in a professional kitchen
Valid driver's licence with the ability to drive confidently
Computer literate
Positive attitude, non-negotiable
Promotes teamwork and harmony in the kitchen, non-negotiable
Reliable, hardworking, and able to maintain consistent standards across all service periods
Comfortable living and working in a remote reserve environment

Core Responsibilities:

Plan, prepare, and execute all meal periods to a consistently high standard
Ensure consistent food quality, taste, and presentation across all dishes and service periods
Maintain strict hygiene, food safety, and HACCP standards throughout all kitchen areas
Ensure all mise en place is freshly prepared, organised, and ready for service at all times
Monitor stock levels, control portion sizes, and actively minimise food wastage
Assist with stock receiving, stock rotation, and monthly stock takes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout all kitchen areas at all times
Foster a positive, professional, and harmonious kitchen culture at all times
Communicate effectively with management and all relevant departments
