Smart Metering Administrator
Our client, a leading provider of smart metering solutions is seeking a Smart Metering Administrator to join their team in Sandton, Johannesburg. The role focuses on managing data, systems, billing structures and processes, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in the smart metering industry, strong analytical and organisational skills, and a solid understanding of smart meter technology, data management systems, and municipal tariff structures.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the smart metering, utilities, or related industry.
• Proficiency with smart metering systems, data management software, and IT troubleshooting.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Good understanding of utilities, metering, and municipal rates/tariff structures.
• Basic understanding of financial principles.
• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Vehicle and valid Driver’s License.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Validate, cleanse, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of smart meter data.
• Troubleshoot and maintain smart metering systems, including hardware and software components.
• Investigate account problems and resolve billing or data discrepancies for clients.
• Provide support and feedback to internal teams, supervisors, management, and external stakeholders.
• Monitor, manage, and load arrears accurately into billing systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and municipal tariff structures.
• Identify inefficiencies in processes and recommend or implement improvements.
• Prepare accurate reports and data analysis for management decision-making.
• Attend client meetings to address queries and provide technical/administrative support.
• Support billing structures and ensure alignment with system processes.
