Site Supervisor

SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for an energetic and proactive Site Supervisor to be based in George, W Cape.  The candidate will be responsible for all aspects related to the delivery of excellent temporary employment services at various client sites with particular emphasis on the logistics sector.

POSITION INFO:
Position Overview:
The Site Supervised, based in George and reporting to the Regional Area Manager will be responsible for maintaining service levels and staffing requirements at various sites. The role is aligned to the strategic and operational imperatives of the company. A successful track record working in a similar role within the service industry combined with deep experience in the TES and Recruitment environment is essential.

Responsibilities:
The Site Supervisor will abide by all work practices and procedures of the employer and / or its’ clients. The policies, rules, procedures, resolutions and regulations of the employer and any terms and conditions set forth will be up to the employee to familiarise themselves with such documents, policies, rules and procedures. It is a requirement to have a working and available cellular phone and be available after hours and weekends to attend to client/company needs. Own transportation is a requirement. Should you be allocated a company vehicle you will be required to transport employees as it may occur from time to time.

Duties:

• Implement and manage roll call of employees and communicate absentees to clients to obtain approval for replacement.
• Ensure all employees that are on duty are as per approved schedule issued and manage discipline where needed.
• Accompany drivers when vehicle checks are conducted to ensure that this process is done properly.
• Check correct uniforms are worn.
• Note all delays on route onto trip sheets.
• Conduct daily checks regarding vehicle offences, and communicate offences and issue disciplinary notices as soon as possible.
• Manage and report in real time all on route incidents and provide feedback on a daily basis.
• File all individual employee documentation.
• Resolve clients’ and employees’ queries within 24 hours. Ensure any delays are communicated in writing and advise estimated date of completion.
• Complete incident reports within one working day and finalise submission.
• Process sick/annual/family responsibility leave weekly and ensure submission of documentation to regional office by 14:00 on Tuesdays.
• Supply new employees’ details to clients with relevant documentation.
• Provide immediate feedback to management and clients on incidents.
• Action reasonable requests and formalise requests from clients within 24 hours.
• Ensure that all employees on site are aware of policies and procedures of clients and ensure signed documentation is held on file.
• Ensure all employees are issued PPE in accordance with site specific requirements.
• Ensure that all employees on site are dressed according to client specific requirements.
• Ensure all employees on site have ID/licences available daily.
• Report any wage query to the office immediately.
• Institute disciplinary action when required, as per company policies, upon written request/complaint from clients.
• Consult operations manager/IR department immediately and assist where required in gathering and pre-hearing investigations for any IR related issues.
• Provide written feedback on a weekly basis to clients on any IR related issues.
• Ensure management is included in all communications.
• Manage effective communication through electronic correspondence and ensure a quick turn-around time on all requests.

• Work experience as a supervisor in the logistics, distribution and warehouse and wholesale and retail industry.
• Excellent MS Office knowledge (Excel).
• Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the NBCRFLI agreement and inner workings for dispute resolution.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills (English).
• Excellent knowledge of the BCEA/LRA legislation.
