SUMMARY:
My client in electronics is seeking a Shipping Manager to report into the Executive for Procurement. In this role the following qualifications are essential: Relevant degree in Supply Chain/Logistics AND a 6 months certificate in clearing & forwarding.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:
Import and Export Management:

Calculate duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of the merchandise to be imported from foreign destinations
Monitor and complete paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international imports in a timely manner and in line with lead time requirements
Receive stock onto ACC PAC
Ensure all pricing structures are updated according to new exchange rates
Ensure that the shipment adheres to customs regulations and coordinate with shipping and customs agents for clearance on delivery
Deal with quotes from prospective shippers
Handle claims with insurance companies if any shipment problems happen to occur
Provide efficient delivery logistics information through data management
Compute international fees for each shipment, and keep track of shipment payments
Adhere to specified standards, policies, practices and procedures as they pertain to the completion of import documentation, carrier and route assignments, and tracking of shipments; and communicate with suppliers and logistics companies in respect to the package's progress
Act as a third party service provider for customers (Zambia & Maputo).
Submit a weekly goods and transit report to management
Ensure that the customers goods are delivered using the correct mode of transport.
