Shipping Administrator

SUMMARY:
Co-ordinate and administer the supply chain relating to Imports and Exports

POSITION INFO:

Process Management

• Manage the coordination, documentation, exports/imports and
• related communication in terms of planning and shipping
• Provide shipping instructions to shipping agents
• Track all shipments to ensure compliance and on time delivery
• Imports – book stock into inspection after costing is done
• Exports/Imports – Receive and process service provider’s invoices
• for payment.
• Ensure compliance with all export/import regulations and
• legislation.
• Maintain consistent and accurate communication to the sales
• team and customers.
• Arrange inspections and necessary certificates
• General administration and filing

Administration

• Manage export/import schedule
• Oversee and coordinate export/import orders
• Gather and distribute key information relevant to the internal
• departments as well as customers

Negotiation

• Negotiate shipping and transport rates as required
• Identify alternate and cost-effective shipping options

SHEQ

• Compliance with all legislative regulations.
• Ensure all SHEQ and audit requirements are strictly adhered to

Sourcing 

• Sourcing and purchasing nonstock items related to site
• requirements.
• Manage the logistics for samples between suppliers and
• customers.
• Link between Planning and Sourcing in providing updated
• information on ETA directly into Sourcing for planning.
• Process Orders
• Input into Supply Chain control sheets

Qualifications and skills

• Matric
• NQF 4/5 Diploma
• Minimum 2-5 years’ relevant work experience within the food and beverage industry
• Competent in MS Office programmes
• Shipping background and previous shipping export experience
• SAP ERP advantageous
