SUMMARY:
Shift Leader

POSITION INFO:

Our Client is lookinf for a Shift Leader. This position is based in Isando and reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating all production activities in line with the agreed Production Schedule

• Leading and Controlling all activities relating to efficient manufacturing of products that comply with all specified quality requirements

• Supervising a number of employees during a shift.

• Monitor and control all aspects of the production process ensuring that the plant runs to the desired target level

• Ensure that equipment is maintained in good working order and is running at correct speeds

• Ensure that quality checks are conducted and any non-conformances corrected immediately

• Ensure proper control and discipline of production team

• Ensure that quality standards are maintained

• Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained in the production areas. • Assigns tasks and responsibilities to employees on shift.

• Co-ordinates replacements & relievers in the event of an employee call-in or no-show.

• Monitor timeliness and discipline of subordinate employees.

• Adherence to and enforces company policies and guidelines.

• Ensures disci

plinary measures are taken in the event of misconduct or poor performance

• Compliance with OSH Act and other risk policies and legislation.

• Compliance with company Food Safety standards.

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

ï‚· N6 mechanical/ millwright with Trade Test

ï‚· Qualification in Production Technology or equivalent

ï‚· First line leadership development/Supervisory training

ï‚· Plastic Technology

ï‚· Experience in first line leadership in a manufacturing environment

ï‚· OSH Act, housekeeping & 5S.

ï‚· Handling disciplinary enquiries.

ï‚· Performance Management

ï‚· Ability to work well under pressure in extreme heat

ï‚· Computer skills: MS Office This position is graded at a Peromnes 9
