Shift Leader

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Shift Leader with strong leadership skills who can drive operational excellence in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment and report to the Production Manager.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and motivate production employees during the assigned shift.
• Ensure production schedules and daily output targets are achieved.
• Maintain compliance with quality standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing procedures.
• Promote and enforce a safe working environment in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Coordinate machine changeovers, start-ups, and shift handovers.
• Investigate and resolve production, quality, and equipment issues in collaboration with support departments.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Manage employee attendance, discipline, training, and performance in accordance with company policies.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S, waste reduction, and process improvement

Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field will be advantageous.
• Sound understanding of automotive quality standards and manufacturing systems.
• Experience in leading teams within a high-volume production environment.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and production reporting systems).
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

Experience Required:

• Minimum of 4–5 years'' supervisory experience in an automotive component manufacturing environment.
