Service Representative

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Representative to join their team based in Bergvliet, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer relationships, driving sales, servicing existing clients, and identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ external sales and/or customer service experience within a similar industry, strong communication and relationship-building skills, excellent time management abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A Matric qualification, valid driver’s license, clear credit record, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. Knowledge of the upholstery and foam industry will be highly advantageous.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years’ external sales and/or customer service experience within a similar industry
• Knowledge of the upholstery and foam industry would be advantageous
• Matric
• Valid driver’s license essential
• Clear credit record required
• Proven track record in sales, telemarketing, and customer relationship management
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while being a strong team player
• Strong time management and organisational skills
• Excellent relationship-building skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word

• Service and maintain the existing customer base in the Southern Suburbs and surrounding areas.
• Conduct regular customer visits and product presentations using samples.
• Ensure customer requirements are effectively managed and all leads are forwarded to Service Consultants for processing.
• Maintain and grow existing sales through excellent customer service and ongoing relationship management.
• Drive positive customer service outcomes, referral business, and customer retention.
• Increase customer spend by identifying opportunities to introduce new and alternative company products.
• Understand customer needs, purchasing patterns, and current spend to identify growth opportunities.
• Develop inactive customers into active accounts through regular visits, product presentations, and relationship building.
• Identify and source new business opportunities by prospecting potential customers in the area.
• Establish key decision-makers within prospective customer businesses and engage with them to understand their requirements.
• Build and maintain a potential customer database, ensuring all customer information is accurately captured on the central database.
• Complete and maintain all required administrative documentation, including customer visit reports, customer information forms, picking slips, and sample request forms.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while maintaining accurate and timely administration.
• Provide consistent reporting and meet deadlines for customer visits, documentation, and sales activities.

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30 to 17:00
• Friday: 8:30am to 16:00
• Saturday: 9:00am to 13:00 (Every Second Saturday)
