SUMMARY:
*Ensure the team follows our incident management processes smoothly and effectively.

POSITION INFO:

Our client in the IT industry is looking for a Service Operations Centre (Team Lead) to join their team!

*Duties and Responsibilities:

*Oversee day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring tasks are prioritized, rosters and training are properly managed and stakeholders are engaged.
*Ensure the team follows our incident management processes smoothly and effectively.
*Proactively engage with other team members across the technical teams and broader company to identify ways to improve service management.
*Make sure our runbooks, operational procedures, and reports live and breathe as we change and improve the services.
*Be on the lookout for deviations in nominal levels and implement service improvements to ensure optimal uptime of the system.
*Keep key stakeholders, other team members, and third parties up to date on what is happening with our services.

Key Skills
*Knowledge of Microsoft-based operating systems and Linux servers.
*Experience in supporting cloud-native systems running in the cloud, preferably Azure.
*Deep knowledge of monitoring systems like Prometheus, ELK or similar tools.
*Basic understanding of database technologies, such as SQL Server. Basic querying would be desirable.
*Understanding of networking essentials, including TCP/IP, routing and DNS.
*Experience using access lists, packet filtering, and troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, whois, and tcpdump.
*Knowledge of Docker containers is desirable.
*Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery practices.
*Knowledge of ITIL Service Management & Best Practices would be desirable.
*Working with JIRA and Confluence.
*Experience working with scripting/automation would be desired.
*Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English and document needs and issues.
