Senior Tool Designer (Dual Discipline)

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing complex single and multi-cavity injection moulds
• Developing progression and progressive die tooling solutions
• Producing detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings
• Conducting DFM reviews, simulations, and validation activities
• Collaborating closely with the toolroom during tool manufacture and assembly
• Supporting T1 trials, tool conditioning, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Managing tooling revisions, documentation, and version control
• Driving solutions that improve manufacturability, reduce cycle times, and enhance tool longevity

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years' experience designing both injection moulds and metal press tools
• Proven experience with complex progression press tooling
• Tool, Jig & Die Making experience
• Advanced proficiency in Mastercam (2022 or later)
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion
• Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of tool steels, heat treatment processes, and polymer flow characteristics
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T principles and manufacturing standards
• Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement practical design improvements
• Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills

Advantageous Experience

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Familiarity with HASCO, DME, MISUMI, and other standard tooling components
• Exposure to CNC machining, wire cutting, EDM, and conventional toolroom practices
