Senior Tax Administrator

About the Role

Our client, a multi-disciplinary firm of Chartered Accountants based in Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated Senior Tax Administrator to join their professional team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse client portfolio within a people-first culture that prioritizes professional development and service excellence. The successful candidate will provide high-level tax compliance and advisory services while gaining exposure to both South African and international tax environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and completion of income tax returns and provisional tax computations for all tax types, including Capital Gains Tax (CGT).
• Maintenance and management of various tax types and client profiles on SARS e-filing.
• Oversight of tax and payroll compliance, including objections, disputes, registrations, and related queries.
• Managing SARS correspondence, attending SARS visits, and handling IT14SD/verification queries and reconciliations.
• Preparation of dividend tax returns and attending to Voluntary Disclosure Programme (VDP) applications.
• Direct consulting and meeting with clients to provide professional tax advice.
• Drafting responses and collating information for verification requests and SARS audits across Income Tax, VAT (including Customs), and PAYE.
• Providing technical opinions on complex tax matters through dedicated research and analysis.

Requirements

• A relevant Diploma or qualification in Taxation or Financial Accounting.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar tax-focused professional environment.
• Registration as a SARS Tax Practitioner is considered a strong advantage.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel); experience with tax management software (e.g., ProfSoft) is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict statutory deadlines.
• A valid South African driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
• Based in the Western Cape.
