Senior Payment Officer

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Payment Officer to join a well-established company within the FMCG Retail industry, based in Centurion. Position overview:
The Senior Payments Officer is responsible for maintaining the corporate payment database, managing bank beneficiary profiles, and executing all domestic and international payments.
This is a critical risk-management role focused on ensuring absolute financial accuracy, enforcing internal controls, mitigating fraud, and maintaining efficient cash flow and corporate banking operations.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or Business Administration (highly advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years of dedicated corporate experience in payments, accounts payable, or cash management. (Essential)
• Required: Direct, proven experience handling international foreign exchange (Forex) payments. (Essential) 
• High proficiency in major corporate internet banking platforms (e.g., Nedbank Corporate, Standard Bank Business, FNB Online, ABSA Access).
• Hands-on proficiency in Sage ERP or similar enterprise accounting
• Must be flexible and willing to work extended hours during month-end closures and peak operational periods to meet strict banking cutoff deadlines.
• Must live within a 25km radius of Centurion
• Valid drivers license and own transport 

• Beneficiary & Data Security Management:
  • Securely load, update, and maintain corporate beneficiary profiles across online banking platforms while ensuring strict compliance (e.g., KYC checks).
  • Independently verify banking details against verified records to prevent administrative errors and combat financial fraud.
  • Load domestic corporate EFTs, inter-account transfers, and international foreign exchange (Forex) transactions.
• Payment Verification & Audit Control:
  • Thoroughly audit payment packs from all operational departments for mathematical accuracy, authorization workflows, and complete supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies or missing documentation prior to payment releases.
• Banking, Cash Management & Loan Administration:
  • Access online corporate banking portals to monitor daily bank balances and report cash positions.
  • Ensure operational accounts are adequately funded for scheduled payment releases while optimizing surplus cash for interest earnings.
  • Monitor, verify, and process scheduled loan repayments in alignment with interest rates and amortization schedules.
• Process & Workflow Optimization:
  • Continuously refine, maintain, and enforce payment workflow controls to enhance turnaround times and data security.
