Our client is a respected specialist within the apparel industry seeking to appoint an experienced legal professional to support the Head of Legal in a highly specialised and confidential role. Acting as the second-in-command, the successful candidate will be responsible for legal documentation, contract coordination, compliance and governance activities, risk-related matters, and sensitive employee-related correspondence. This client-facing position requires exceptional attention to detail, sound judgement, discretion, and a strong systems and technology orientation within a fast-paced corporate environment.

Job Description:

• Act as a key support to the Head of Legal, serving as a trusted second-in-command across legal, compliance, and governance matters.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients, service providers, and regulatory bodies.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a wide range of commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.
• Manage the contract lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of contractual obligations.
• Support the development and implementation of governance frameworks, policies, and legal best practices across the business.
• Coordinate and oversee incident management, insurance claims, and related risk-mitigation activities.
• Investigate, manage, and coordinate potential disputes and litigation matters in conjunction with external legal counsel.
• Prepare, review, and manage confidential employee-related correspondence, including disciplinary, grievance, and employment documentation.
• Handle highly sensitive business and payroll information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and support ongoing compliance across the organisation.
• Identify legal, operational, and commercial risks and recommend practical solutions to mitigate exposure.
• Streamline legal and administrative processes to improve operational efficiency and enhance service delivery.
• Maintain accurate legal records, registers, and document management systems.
• Leverage technology and systems to optimise workflows, reporting, and information management.
• Provide guidance and support to business stakeholders on contractual, compliance, and procedural matters.
• Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives requiring legal, governance, or contractual input.
