SUMMARY:

Senior Draughtsman – Mining & Mineral Processing Design

Location: Alberton, Gauteng
Some drawings document a design. Others define how industries move forward.
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Draughtsman who is passionate about engineering excellence and capable of transforming complex concepts into practical, buildable solutions.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Produce detailed engineering drawings and 3D models for mining and mineral processing plants.
Design plant components, equipment layouts, and material handling systems.
Develop and detail conveyor systems for both surface and underground mining applications.
Generate fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings.
Assist with mechanical design and detailing activities throughout project lifecycles.
Perform structural detailing where required.
Liaise with engineers, project teams, clients, and fabricators to ensure design accuracy and project success.
Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with relevant engineering codes and specifications.
Conduct revisions and updates to existing plant designs and documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum 8 years' draughting experience within an engineering environment.
Proven experience in mining, mineral processing, bulk materials handling, or related industries.
Strong knowledge of conveyor design and plant layout development.
Experience producing detailed mechanical drawings and designs.
Exposure to structural steel detailing and design coordination.
Advanced proficiency in relevant CAD software.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent attention to detail.
