The Role: Senior Legal Associate (Congo)
The Senior Legal Associate will play a critical role in advising clients on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters within the Congolese and OHADA legal frameworks. This role requires a skilled practitioner who can provide both strategic and technical legal support to local and international clients, ensuring compliance and facilitating investment and operational success.
Key Responsibilities

Provide legal and tax advisory services to local and international clients operating in Congo

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, legal opinions, and corporate documentation

Advise on corporate structuring, regulatory compliance, and investment frameworks

Conduct legal research and monitor updates on local and regional legal developments

Liaise with government authorities and regulators on behalf of clients

Support regional and cross-border transactions under OHADA and Congolese law

Collaborate with colleagues across offices and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives
About You

LLB or related qualification

Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in legal and tax advisory

In-depth knowledge of OHADA law and Congolese commercial and labour law

Proven experience advising international clients is advantageous

Strong legal drafting, analytical, and communication skills

Fluency in French; professional working knowledge of English highly desirable

Experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors is highly valued

Familiarity with judiciary procedures an advantage

Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple assignments independently
