POSITION INFO:
ð The Opportunity
A well-established organisation based in Graaff-Reinet is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to take ownership of core financial functions while leading and developing a team within a dynamic environment. In this role, you will oversee fixed assets, accounts payable, treasury, and month-end reporting — ensuring every process is delivered with precision and integrity.
This is an opportunity for a strong, hands-on accountant who is ready to bring structure to complexity, elevate team performance, and strengthen the organisation’s financial backbone from the ground up.

ð Key Responsibilities

Manage the full fixed asset function, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance
Oversee the accounts payable process with strong controls and efficiency
Take ownership of cashbooks and treasury operations to ensure accurate cash management
Drive the month-end close process and produce reliable financial reporting
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 8 direct reports — fostering accountability and growth
Implement and refine processes to improve financial accuracy and operational flow
Support internal and external audits through structured and transparent reporting
Apply systems knowledge to streamline accounting workflows

ð§ What You Bring

Completed BCom degree (minimum requirement)
Minimum 3 years’ experience, with 3–5 years within accounting functions
Strong technical experience across: Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, Cashbooks / Treasury, Month-End Reporting
Proven team management experience (8 direct reports)
System exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous
A leadership approach grounded in accuracy, structure, and developing people
