SUMMARY:
A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a finance team.

POSITION INFO:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable transactions, supplier reconciliations, payments, reporting and related finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, verify and process supplier invoices, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Prepare invoice batches and capture invoices accurately on MDA.
Prepare and process Operations, SLA and ad-hoc payments on MDA.
Prepare and process supplier payments via online banking platforms.
Prepare detailed payment schedules for each payment run.
Reconcile creditor statements to the General Ledger and creditors' ledger.
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
Prepare and process municipal bills on MDA.
Review and understand municipal variance reports and respond to management queries.
Process ad-hoc payments and cost recoveries.
Correct accounting misallocations through journal entries.
Prepare accounts payable audit packs and assist with monthly management packs.
Perform accounts payable balance sheet reconciliations.
Save proof of payments and ensure invoices are correctly indexed on MDA.
Prepare and distribute supplier remittances.
Prepare payment lists, cash flow requirements and payment transfers.
Maintain accurate supplier correspondence and records.
Perform filing and general accounts payable administration.
Ensure all supplier transactions are accurately and timeously recorded.
Maintain up-to-date financial information and documentation.
Make sound daily decisions aligned with departmental and organisational objectives.
Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Proficiency in MDA is essential and non-negotiable.
Strong understanding of the accounting process through to Trial Balance.
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong planning, organising and task-monitoring abilities.
Excellent problem analysis, judgement and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
