A well-established organisation within the manufacturing and retail industry is seeking to appoint a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their finance team based in Alberton, Johannesburg South. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment supporting operational and financial excellence.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a BCom-qualified professional with completed SAICA or SAIPA articles and 1–3 years’ post-articles experience, who thrives in a hands-on role and enjoys taking ownership of tax, reporting, and team management responsibilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and leading a small team within the finance function.
The appointed individual will work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial information, while contributing to process improvements and strengthening financial controls across the business.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Oversee tax compliance, including VAT and income tax submissions
• Manage and mentor junior finance staff
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and enforce strong financial controls
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting

• BCom degree (non-negotiable)
• Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
• 1–3 years’ post-articles experience
• Strong experience in tax and financial reporting
• Previous people management or supervisory experience advantageous
• Experience within manufacturing or retail environments preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site environment and meet deadlines
