Senior Accountant

POSITION INFO:

As the Senior Accountant, your duties could include the following:
Oversee and process monthly payroll accurately and on time
Capture supplier invoices and process payments in accordance with company policies
Record financial transactions by maintaining proper account documentation
Manage and reconcile accounts receivable and payable
Perform timely and accurate bank reconciliations
Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts
Handle all SARS-related matters, including the preparation and submission of statutory returns
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies across South Africa and Namibia
Prepare detailed monthly financial reports for management review
Manage and forecast cash flow to support business operations
Reconcile inter-company loan balances across group entities
Assist in compiling the annual budget and monitoring budget performance
Prepare accurate Annual Financial Statements in line with reporting standards
Prepare monthly group consolidations for international entities
Maintain and enforce sound internal control systems
Manage and update the fixed asset register
Respond to ad-hoc financial queries and support business decision-making as needed

Skills & Experience:
4-5 years experience in a Senior Accountant role
Proficiency in Xero Accounting Software
Knowledge of relevant financial legislation, accounting and audit standards
Knowledge of SimplePay would be highly beneficial

Qualification:
Completed BCom degree in Finance or Accounting
Honours would be advantageous
