POSITION INFO:
Fancourt, South Africa’s premier golfing, leisure and lifestyle destination, is situated in George in the heart of the Garden Route. We are now recruiting for a Seamstress to join our Housekeeping team.
In this role we are looking for a person with drive and passion for the industry, with the ability to keep up with the high pace, and a sincere commitment to exceed expectations.
The purpose of this role is to alter and repair articles of clothing and linen for guests and various departments as well as to manage and keep stock of the uniform store combined with assisting laundry operations on a daily basis by sorting, counting and packing of clean and dirty linen.
We consider the following as essential:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 10 or equivalent, coupled with sewing experience and fabric knowledge,
- Experience in a hotel environment will be advantageous.
Duties & Responsibilities (areas and indicators listed are not exhaustive and may be changed / supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time):
- To alter and repair linen and towels for various departments and guest clothing if requested,
- To issue chef uniforms,
- To be responsible for the uniform store and monthly stocktake of uniforms,
- Responsible for the dispatching of dirty uniforms, and receiving of clean chef uniforms to and from external cleaning suppliers,
- Assisting of laundry operations by counting, sorting and packing of dirty rooms linen and towels on a daily basis.
We are looking for candidates who have their own accommodation in George / surrounds, who are prepared to work weekends, Public holiday and shifts, and who are fit and able to carry out the normal responsibilities attached to this role.
