Seafreight Forwarding Manager

SUMMARY:
Our international and global clearing and forwarding client is on the hunt for a Forwarding Manager to focus on seafreight.

POSITION INFO:
Join a competitive player within the market managing their seafreight forwarding team.
This team consists of senior, high performing Controllers who handle large volumes of forwarding shipments.

Duties:

• Rate and proposal implementation and maintenance.
• Understanding of international currencies.
• Customs and other statutory parastatals cargo clearance. procedure.
• The ability to organise a team effectively and efficiently.
• Execution of functional business objectives and strategies.
• International Trade principles and procedures.
• Financial acumen. Change management ambassadors.
• Managing and resolving conflict.
• Assertiveness, initiative, proactive, independence, integrity and diplomacy.

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• 3-year freight forwarding-related qualification at NQF level 6.
• 10 years Seafreight experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry of which 5 years were in a supervisory capacity.
• INCO Terms.
• Process knowledge on the movement of goods throughout the supply chain.
• Basic international trade principles. Container. understanding/usage.
