The Sculler at Pepperclub Hotel plays a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation within the kitchen. This behind-the-scenes position ensures that chefs and service teams can operate efficiently in a spotless, safe, and well-prepared environment.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Cleaning & Sanitising: Wash and sanitise all crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils according to hygiene standards.

Work Area Maintenance: Keep scullery areas, sinks, floors, and equipment clean, dry, and hazard-free at all times.

Support Kitchen Operations: Assist chefs and cooks by ensuring a steady supply of clean tools and utensils during service.

Waste Management: Properly separate and dispose of waste, recyclables, and food scraps in line with hotel procedures.

Stock & Equipment Care: Handle cleaning chemicals and machinery responsibly, ensuring correct usage and storage.

Restocking: Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning materials and assist with restocking crockery and utensils where needed.

Safety Compliance: Follow all hygiene, health, and safety protocols, including PPE and temperature control guidelines.

Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with kitchen and service teams to support smooth operations during peak hours.

Operational Standards: Report damaged items, maintenance issues, or shortages immediately to supervisors.

Requirements, Qualifications & Expectations

Previous experience as a sculler, kitchen steward, or cleaner in a hotel or restaurant environment preferred.

Knowledge of basic cleaning practices and food safety principles.

Physically fit and able to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
