SUMMARY:

Pinetown. A well-established business within the Clothing industry is looking for a Sample Set Supervisor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive candidate with at least 3 years of experience in the sewing / textile environment, and strong garment construction knowledge

Please note, the successful candidate will also need to work Saturdays until 1pm.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the sample set production line and ensure adherence to production schedules and daily output targets
Lead and motivate a team of machinists and pattern makers, providing training and support as needed
Monitor product quality throughout production, swiftly addressing any issues to maintain high standards
Troubleshoot and resolve production problems in collaboration with technical support and management
Work closely with departments such as Merchandising, Patternmaking, and Quality Assurance to ensure smooth operations
Evaluate employee performance, offer constructive feedback, and implement improvement plans
Enforce workplace safety protocols and foster an efficient, safe working environment
Maintain accurate production records, including daily outputs and team performance metrics

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a sewing or textile environment
Strong understanding of garment construction and ability to assist machinists when needed
Skilled in basic Excel (capturing data, not formulas)
Excellent planning and time management abilities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to act quickly and effectively
Availability to work Saturdays until 1:00 PM is essential
