Seeking a robust Sales & Specification Rep for our Bloemfontein office. Cover the Northern Cape and Lesotho. Sales and/or building-related qualification preferred. Proven sales record of min 3 years (building industry). Fluent in Afrikaans. Well-experienced in obtaining tenders.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
- We are seeking a dynamic Sales Representative to cover the Northern Cape region and Lesotho, driving sales growth and building strong customer relationships across these regions.
- Maximise sales opportunities in the area through effective sales visibility and market share growth, whilst building and maintaining good customer relationships. Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the development of new business opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Matric (Grade 12) with a relevant tertiary qualification in sales and/or building-related field is advantageous. Proven sales record of at least 3 years, ideally in the building industry.
- Driver’s license with a car pre-approval.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Good writing skills.
- Proficiency in English and Afrikaans. Afrikaans is a prerequisite.
IMPORTANT NOTES APPLICABLE TO THE POSITION:
There are different aspects to this job, not necessarily just selling to customers, and retaining the current database/, but maintain customer relations, and increasing the client base.
- There is the SPECIFYING side of the function where the sales rep must be able to call on architects, contractors, QS’s, hardware stores, Industry bodies and the government for new tenders and projects etc. (Some customer base exists but need to also get new).
- For example, the candidate needs to have the know-how and work ethic to go hear about the government wanting to build a school, call on them and obtain the company’s onto the tender so that if tenders are awarded the project is being done with our product. Hence more business and sales.
- They need to be able to specify our products to these role players in the construction and building game and get us on as many jobs as possible.
- There is also the SELLING function which is travelling throughout the Northen Cape and Lesotho and checking in on current customers (wholesalers) like Builders warehouse/ Build It, calling on the above parties mentioned) etc.
- The candidate must speak fluent Afrikaans because of the challenging environment of calling on the government and the fact that the whole of NC is Afrikaans speaking.
- The manager is willing to train the person on calling on architects etc. If they have strong potential for being trained, strong skills for the government, specifying and selling.
- The client requires a candidate with a mixture of a Sales Rep & Specification Sales Rep, and handling the government specifically. This is truly a tough environment.
- It is of great importance that the candidate understands that the sales rep position is that they offer Employee Car Allowance Scheme (ECAS) which requires the reps cars to be new. Up to 180000km / not older than 4 years unless the mileage is low. They must be able to get car finance in order to keep the car within those specs to provide better protection etc. to the company.
