POSITION INFO:

The Interactive Multi-Media Sales Client Executive is responsible for identifying, securing, and growing revenue from South African and international companies by selling Synergi’s multimedia and creative solutions.

The role focuses on maximizing income through strategic engagement with local and international brands, using a deep understanding of South Africa’s media landscape, client needs, and market dynamics.

A key aspect of the role is expanding the media buying footprint by leveraging strong industry contacts with leading news publications, media outlets, and digital platforms in South Africa and neighbouring countries.

Regional Market Insight & Community Engagement:

• The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of the diverse economic and cultural dynamics across the broader Cape Town metropolitan regions, including surrounding towns, suburbs, and underserved areas.
• A deep knowledge of local consumer behavior, media consumption patterns, and business environments is essential. The role requires a proactive, innovative approach to identifying unique advertising and engagement opportunities that not only drive revenue, but also deliver meaningful value to local communities, brands, and partners.
• This includes tailoring multimedia strategies that resonate with varied audiences across different regions while strengthening Synergi’s footprint at grassroots and urban levels alike.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sell and promote full portfolio of media and creative agency products including TV, radio, digital, print, out-of-home, event activations, and sponsorships.
• Source and grow new revenue streams through South African-based clients, regional brands, and international businesses.
• Utilize existing contacts and relationships with major news publications and media outlets to expand Synergi’s media buying reach.
• Identify and negotiate media placement opportunities that align with client objectives and campaign strategies.
• Collaborate with internal creative, production, and content teams to develop compelling, results-driven campaigns.
• Monitor and analyze sales performance, media trends, and industry developments to guide sales strategies and optimize revenue.
• Represent at meetings, industry events, and across business networks within South Africa and the broader region.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in media sales, advertising, or integrated marketing.
• Experience working within or in close partnership with a creative agency or media group.
• Well-established network of contacts within South African news publications, digital publishers, and traditional media outlets.
• Experience negotiating and executing media buys and content placements across platforms.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related fields.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and regionally.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of South Africa’s media ecosystem and advertising landscape.
• Existing relationships with media owners, publishers, and sales teams across print, online, and broadcast platforms.
• Ability to conceptualize and sell cross-platform marketing solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English (Afrikaans advantageous).
• Confident negotiator with C-level business engagement skills.
• Results-driven with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and independent working style.

• Achieve or exceed sales revenue targets and account growth objectives.
• Secure media buying opportunities and strategic partnerships with new platforms and publishers.
• Expand media footprint and campaign reach across South Africa and the SADC region.
• High client satisfaction and campaign renewal/conversion rate.
• Contribution to new business development, innovation, and market intelligence reporting.
