FMCG Sales Manager

POSITION INFO:

Role Review:

• Our client is an established agricultural business that has been supplying fresh produce to the retail industry for over 30 years

• Manage daily customer orders (including small retailers) and ensure order accuracy and fulfillment.
• Monitor and verify cost prices and market prices to ensure competitive positioning.
• Conduct daily stock checks and proactively offer available extras to customers.
• Align customer orders with the Farm’s Growing Programme and coordinate with Production for scheduling.
• Submit daily shortfall and delivery schedules to relevant retailers 
• Support Production in prioritising orders based on daily shortfalls.
• Maintain daily reporting on total orders, sales, and delivery performance to the CEO.
• Hold regular meetings with retail buyers to strengthen relationships and negotiate pricing.
• Drive sales growth of at least 10% per annum and expand the client base.
• Identify creative sales opportunities and find solutions for the sale of second-grade or surplus products.
• Assist with packaging material orders and stock coordination.
• Ensure achievement of agreed sales budgets and profitability targets.

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12) – essential
• Sales or Marketing qualification – advantageous
• 3+ years’ experience in sales, preferably within FMCG, fresh produce, or a similar industry
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse pricing, margins, and trends
• Proactive, out-of-the-box thinker with a passion for growing business opportunities
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Hands-on personality – comfortable working on-site, engaging with operations, and “getting your hands dirty”
• Tech-savvy and quick to learn supplier systems and reporting tools
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Reliable, self-motivated, and eager to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven agricultural environment
