Sales Executive

SUMMARY:
The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales and business development for the company's beef and meat products. The role involves identifying new customers, maintaining existing client relationships, taking orders, preparing quotations, following up on sales opportunities and achieving monthly sales targets.
The successful candidate should have a strong understanding of the meat industry and preferably an existing network within butcheries, restaurants, hospitality, wholesalers, retailers and other food-service businesses.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the beef and meat market.
• Conduct cold calling, customer visits, networking and business development activities.
• Target butcheries, restaurants, hotels, lodges, catering companies, wholesalers and retailers.
• Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
• Introduce new customers to the company's beef products and services.
• Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
• Grow the company's customer base and market share.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales with existing customers.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
• Regularly visit customers to understand their requirements.
• Act as the main point of contact for allocated clients.
• Ensure customers receive excellent service and prompt feedback.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional sales.

• Take and process customer orders accurately.
• Have a good understanding of beef cuts, grades, specifications and packaging.
• Advise customers on suitable products according to their requirements.
• Confirm stock availability, pricing and delivery requirements.
• Liaise with production, butchery, dispatch and logistics teams to ensure orders are fulfilled.
• Follow up on deliveries and address any delivery-related issues.

• Prepare and send quotations to prospective and existing customers.
• Negotiate pricing within authorised company parameters.
• Monitor competitor pricing and market activity.
• Identify profitable sales opportunities.
• Follow up on quotations and convert opportunities into confirmed orders.

• Maintain accurate customer and sales information.
• Record activities and opportunities on the company's CRM or sales system.
• Provide regular sales reports to management.
• Monitor outstanding quotations and orders.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Sales, Marketing, Business Management or Food Industry qualification would be advantageous.
• 2–5 years' proven sales experience, preferably within the meat, food, FMCG or wholesale industry.
• Previous experience selling beef or meat products would be highly advantageous.
• Existing relationships with butcheries, restaurants, hotels, lodges, wholesalers or food-service businesses would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of beef cuts and meat products.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong customer relationship management skills.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Own reliable vehicle preferably required.
• Willingness to travel within Pretoria, Gauteng and surrounding areas.
