POSITION INFO:
A leading engineering solutions company is searching for a Sales Engineer to support and grow their footprint across the Steelpoort mining region.
This role focuses on selling specialised safety, monitoring, and underground mining technologies, working directly with major mining operations, production teams, and engineering managers.
Non-Negotiable Requirements

Technical qualification in Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronics / Instrumentation
â
3–5 years’ experience in technical sales into the mining sector
â
Strong network within chrome, platinum, and underground mining operations
â
Proven track record in solution sales (systems, safety, monitoring, or related technologies)
â
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively across Steelpoort mines
Job Experience & Skills Required
- Develop and maintain relationships with mining engineers, production teams, and procurement
- Identify opportunities for safety, monitoring, communication, and automation technologies
- Conduct site visits, demonstrations, and technical presentations underground and on-surface
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and specification through to commercial negotiation
- Collaborate with technical teams to design custom solutions for mine-specific needs
- Drive territory growth, market share, and repeat business
- Maintain CRM records, sales reporting, pipeline management, and forecasting
