STORES CONTROLLER – LIMITED DURATION CONTRACT

SUMMARY:
To effectively manage the day-to-day stores and stock control function on site, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, issuing, replenishment and recording of stock. The position is responsible for maintaining efficient material flow, accurate administration, customer service and compliance with company and site requirements.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To effectively manage the day-to-day stores and stock control function on site, ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, issuing, replenishment and recording of stock. The position is responsible for maintaining efficient material flow, accurate administration, customer service and compliance with company and site requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage daily stores operations, including receiving, issuing, dispatching and replenishment of stock.
• Maintain accurate stock records and ensure stock levels and bin allocations are properly controlled.
• Process stock transactions, orders and documentation accurately and timeously.
• Monitor stock movements and investigate and report stock variances.
• Ensure all materials are correctly recorded, stored and controlled.
• Coordinate the timely supply of materials and spares to meet site requirements.
• Maintain accurate administrative records and reporting.
• Process relevant documentation and transactions on ERP systems such as SAP / B.C.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site personnel, technical teams and management.
• Attend to customer queries and complaints and escalate issues where necessary.
• Ensure stores are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Ensure compliance with company, customer, SHE and legislative requirements.
• Assist with stock planning and identifying future stock requirements.
• Supervise stores personnel and ensure that procedures, productivity and service standards are maintained.
• Assist with logistics and transportation arrangements where required.
• Provide accurate internal and external reporting.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and operational requirements as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Matric / Grade 12
• Diploma or Certificate in Administration, Business Management, Engineering Administration or a related field will be advantageous.
• 3–5 years’ administration / stores experience, preferably within a technical, engineering, mining, OEM or project environment.
• Experience in stock control, stores administration and technical documentation.
• Computer literate with good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Experience with SAP, B.C. or another ERP system will be advantageous.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Previous supervisory experience will be advantageous.
• Valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.
